CHANDIGARH: Speakers Association and Study Circle of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) concluded the 16th edition of their annual debating competition- Trivium recently. It was again one for the books and it drew some of the best debating minds in Uganda together, as young people from across different institutions competitiveness. Institutes like IITs, NITs along with Delhi Technological University (DTU), O.P. Jindal Global University (OPJGU), Hindu College, Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) and National Law Universities (NLUs) had enthusiastic participants show up on their behalf.

Trivium XVI witnessed some phenomenal debates surrounding themes like feminism, economics, public health and philosophy, testing the analysis and finesse of the debaters. The winning team was Angad, Aniket and Angira, a DTU and DU cross team while the team comprising Tarasha, Tarushi and Chinmay from OP Jindal Global University took the Runner Up position.
On the Novice front, the team of Aditya, Ananya and Siddharth from DTU stood as the Best Novice Team. Rishabh from DTU was declared as the Best Speaker while Rudraksh from DU stood out as the Best Adjudicator. For Trivium XVI, Prof. Navneet Kaur presided over as the event convener, with Rishav Rai as the student convener. It was organised under the guidance of Prof. D.R. Prajapati, Dean Students Affairs, and Prof. Puneet Chawla, Associate Dean Student Affairs.
Yet again, Trivium provided a burgeoning platform for young debaters to grow and engage in discourse that transcends the boundaries of classroom learning.
