Chandigarh / Punjab 18th Dec 2025

Reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, inclusive growth and women’s empowerment, Trident Group, under the guidance of its Chairman, Padma Shri Rajinder Gupta, and Chief CSR, Mrs. Madhu Gupta, organised a handicraft exhibition titled “Hastkala 2025: Waste to Wealth” through the Trident Humanity Foundation held at Budhni Plant.

The exhibition brought the concept of “Trash to Treasure” to life by encouraging the transformation of discarded materials into functional and artistic products. Designed to promote environmental responsibility and innovation, the initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from institutions and community groups, with over 40 women artisans showcasing their creativity and craftsmanship.

The platform enabled women to display their talent, generate livelihood opportunities and preserve India’s rich cultural heritage, while advancing the principles of sustainability and circular economy. Participants included Narmadapuram Central Jail, National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) Narmadapuram, ITI Shahganj students, Annie Besant School, Madhuban Residency, Trident Hostel, and women from Self-Help Groups of Gwardia and Talpura, along with residents of Madhuban Internal Residency.

The exhibits were evaluated by a distinguished jury comprising Pramod Shukla, Surabhi Sahi, Preeti Birajdar, Shatakshi and Aarti Semwal, with support from the Trident CSR team members Arvind Giri, Harshita Yadav and Subesh Tiwari. Kiranjeet Kaur secured the first prize, followed by ITI Shahganj in second place, while the third prize was jointly awarded to Narmadapuram Central Jail and Rashmi Maurya.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the initiative underscored how innovation, responsibility and community participation can collectively drive meaningful social change. Through “Hastkala 2025”, Trident Group demonstrated a scalable model for empowering women and students through art, creativity and sustainable practices, paving the way for economic self-reliance and a greener future.
