The Punjab Engineering College Old Students Association (PECOSA) convened its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 11 AM at Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh. The event brought together alumni, faculty, and students in an engaging day of reflection, recognition, and renewed commitment toward strengthening the PEC community.
The gathering was held under the esteemed presence of Prof. Dr. Rajesh Kanda, Head of Alumni Affairs, PEC, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The program opened with a warm welcome address by Er. Manish Gupta, President, PECOSA. In his remarks, he thanked the alumni for their consistent support and highlighted their pivotal role in nurturing the institution’s growth. “Our alumni are the ambassadors of PEC, carrying forward its values and inspiring future generations. Their active involvement ensures that our students get exposure, opportunities, and guidance beyond the classroom,” he noted.
Delivering the chief guest address, Prof. Dr. Rajesh Kanda lauded PECOSA’s enduring efforts in building strong bridges between alumni and their alma mater. He spoke about the significance of alumni associations in fostering collaboration, mentoring young engineers, and enhancing PEC’s visibility in academic and professional spheres. He urged the alumni community to continue their engagement with renewed vigor, underscoring that PEC’s strength lies not only in its academic legacy but also in the achievements and generosity of its alumni.
The meeting also featured the presentation of the annual financial report by Er. Jorawar Singh, Treasurer, PECOSA. He outlined the association’s budget and expenditures for the year, reaffirming PECOSA’s commitment to transparency and accountability in managing alumni contributions.
A particularly proud moment of the AGM was the felicitation of meritorious students, where awards and scholarships were conferred to recognize outstanding academic performance. For the young recipients, the recognition was not only a mark of their hard work but also a reminder of the strong support system provided by their alumni network.
The forum further witnessed lively discussions on PECOSA’s flagship initiatives, including the General Alumni Meet, one of the most significant annual events hosted by the association. Members reflected on past successes and explored innovative ways to broaden alumni engagement, especially by involving recent graduates and expanding professional networking opportunities. These discussions underlined PECOSA’s role as more than just an alumni body—it is a community that continually reinvests in the growth of PEC and its students.
Bringing the day’s proceedings to a close, Er. H.S. Oberoi, General Secretary, PECOSA, extended the vote of thanks. He expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests, alumni members, faculty, and students who made the AGM a success. He also acknowledged the collective efforts of the PECOSA executive team in planning and executing the event.
