Aeroplaza Panchkula Golf League (APGL) was launched at the Panchkula Golf Club. The league will take place until 23rd April 2025. League is a Team Championship played between 16 teams divided into two pools A & B of 8 teams each. Each team has 14 members. The league is held in 2 steps, the Round Robin step and then that the Knockout step. The matches at the round robin stage were as follows:
In Group A action, the ‘Highland Kings’ stole the show against the ‘ADS Falcons’ with a comfortable 41 – 31 victory with a 10-points winning difference through slower and steadier gameplay. The ‘Golfing Panthers’ followed up the prior game with an equally gripping performance, routing ‘Aces by Vintage Buildtech’ 44–24 in a match that was one-sided from the beginning. On the other hand, ‘Victory Waves’ made their own waves by thoroughly defeating the ‘Sneakin Golfers’ with a 38–25 score in a very one-sided contest. He scored the near-fatal score of the group stage after his group, the Fantastic Fours, defeated David’s group, Clubs on Flames, with a marginal score of 38-35 in a sensational match.
Group B: On the green course, ‘Golfing Eagles’ defeated their rivals ‘Par-Tee Crashers’ with an overwhelming score of 45–30. In yet another one-sided contest the ‘Shivalik Swingers’ hammered the ‘Tee Titans’ 40–26. In other closely fought clash during first season of ’Green Warriors’ beat ‘Raging Bulls’ , 38–32. In the previous match ‘Tee Birds’ winning over ‘Hansa Legends’ 35-32.
Stage 1: In the league seven (7) days of round robin play will be held, which means each team plays every other team in the group. Knockout stage — Quarter-finals: 18 April The quarters will be followed by the semi-finals on April 20, and the best of the best will vie for the top prize with the grand finale on April 23 at Panchkula Golf Club.
Details of the teams that will be contesting in Group A — Highland Kings, ADS Falcons, Golfing Panthers, Aces by Vintage Buildtech, Fantastic Fours, Clubs on Flames, Sneakin Golfers, and Victory Waves.
Among teams in Group B are Golfing Eagles, Par-Tee Crashers, Tee Titans, Green Warriors, Raging Bulls, Tee Birds, Shivalik Swingers and Hansa Legends.
Round Robin Points System: For a match with another team, each team will select a 5:5 set for its matches against the opposing team. So, when one pair play another pair from the opposing team, the cumulative stableford score of both partners on each hole are pitted against the cumulative stableford score of the opposing pair on that hole to see which pair wins the hole.
Now, this total is total hole points, So the total will be added for all 5 pairs in the team, And it will be compared to the total number of holes won by the other team to determine who won the match and they will get 3 points for Win and 1 point each if they have the same number of wins.
