Nature Conservation Day celebrated at HMV Collegiate School

HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School celebrated Nature Conservation Day under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Chief Guest Mr. Harpreet Singh, SDM graced the function. The illumination of Nature’s power was symbolized by Lightening the Lamp. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen extended her warm regards to the Chief Guest and welcomed him in the premises of HMV. She mentioned about different Green Initiatives taken by HMV in which Green Diwali is one of them. The concept of  Rakhi Sakhi is also one of the acclaimed initiatives in which the new dimension Vrikshabandhan has been added to tie the knot of protection to trees. She felt elated that the message of conserving and appreciating nature is disseminated in the society through the students. SDM Mr. Harpreet Singh appreciated the efforts taken by HMV and highly elated to know about Vrikshabandha, Eco-friendly garden maintained beautifully by waste products, solar power units and by the entire greenery and positivity of HMV. School Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal said that the main motive of celebrating Nature Conservation Day is to sensitise the students about conserving and preserving Nature and to protect the rich flaura and fauna which is at the verge of extinction. She said that students of HMV feel inspired by observing the Eco Park of HMV Collegiate School which exemplifies suitably that how waste can be turned into beauty.  She mentioned the initiative of “Each One Plant One” in which faculty members plant saplings on their birthdays. The students joined the hand in conserving nature by making beautiful bird feeder and bird nest which become the part of school’s Eco Friendly Garden. The student of SSC-I, Arts Stuti Sharma recited a wonderful poem on Nature which was applauded by all. The event was culminated with the Tree Plantation by the Chief Guest Sh. Harpreet Singh, SDM. On this occasion Deans of all departments, Faculty Heads and Superintendents Mr. Pankaj Jyoti, Mr. Lakhwinder Singh and Mr. Ravi Maini Were also present. The stage was conductd by Dr. Meenu Talwar.
