A dignified memorial programme was organised at the Ram Mandir complex, located near the railway crossing in Dera Bassi, on the sacred occasion of the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and three-time former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Filled with reverence, respect, and patriotism, the event paid heartfelt tributes to Atal ji’s towering personality and his enduring ideas.
Delhi-based Minister of State Dushyant Gautam attended the programme as the chief guest. He was joined by BJP Vice President Subhash Sharma, District President Sanjeev Vashisht, Dera Bassi BJP leader and State Secretary Sanjeev Khanna, former Amloh Pradhan Pradeep, mandal president Pawan Dhiman, Rajinder Kaushik, executive member Mukesh Gandhi, Radhey Shyam, Ravinder Rana, Gurudarshan Singh Saini, along with all former and present mandal presidents, a large number of party workers, and local residents, who graced the occasion as special guests. The dignitaries remembered Atal ji’s life, his ideals, and his invaluable contribution to nation-building, describing him as a strong pillar of modern India.
On the occasion, the live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popular radio programme Mann Ki Baat was also screened. Sanjeev Khanna informed that this was the 129th episode of Mann Ki Baat, in which the Prime Minister highlighted the major achievements of the year 2025 and said that these successes have given the nation renewed confidence and fresh energy.
The speakers described Atal Bihari Vajpayee as a symbol of simplicity, harmony, and unwavering patriotism, stating that his life stands as an exemplary model of political dignity and democratic values. Party workers and residents present at the programme pledged to imbibe Atal ji’s thoughts and ideals in their lives.
After the condolence meeting, a community meal was also organised, in which a large number of people participated. The entire atmosphere echoed with slogans of “Atal ji Amar Rahein” and was imbued with a strong spirit of patriotism.
