Tussle between Farmers and Shopkeepers pertaining to Lockdown

Amid the surge in Covid 19 Cases and Infections various Farmers organization illusrtrated  marches against the weekend lockdown restrictions in Punjab on Saturday  , implicating the Centre as well as State federal government of falling short to take care of the circumstance emerging out of the infection spread.

Earlier the Thirty two Farmers organization of Punjab ,which have actually been the spearhead of the  continuous frustration versus Centre’s farm laws , likewise requested  all storekeepers to open their stores as a mark of demonstration versus the lockdown. The Farmers union including women carried their own union flag appealed the shopkeepers to open their shops. However most of the shopkeepers kept their shops shut on Saturday.

Inspite of this tough Pandemic situation Several Farmers organization defy the restrictions and carried out marches in several places of Punjab , including Moga, Patiala, Amritsar, Ajnala , Nabha, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and Bathinda.

The Police that were deployed  in sufficient numbers were released throughout the state following farmers’ objection.

The General Secretary of Bharti Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan)  said that the  lockdown is not a situation  to manage the Covid-19 ,” he claimed, declaring that store owners were required to close their stores. Khokrikalan likewise implicated the Government of not doing anything to boost the wellness framework regardless of being well.

The Punjab CM Amarinder Singh on Friday instructed the DGP Punjab to  strictly impose weekend lockdown restrictions in the state and take strict actions  against  people who violates the restrictions in view of Farmers protest.
