–Chandigarh: 19th August, 2025: 

Second Batch Successfully Concluded The Computer Centre of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, successfully organized the second batch of the ICT Training Program for Officials from the Police Department of Chandigarh from 21st July, 2025 to 18th August, 2025. The Valedictory Event of this training was graced by Prof. Rajesh Bhatia, Director, Punjab Engineering College, as the Chief Guest, who lauded the efforts of the Computer Centre and appreciated the enthusiasm of the participating police officials. In his address, Prof. Bhatia emphasized the critical importance of ICT skills in today’s governance and policing environment, highlighting how digital tools, e-governance platforms, and cyber awareness can strengthen law enforcement capabilities, improve transparency, and foster efficiency in service delivery.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Sunita Mehta, Course Coordinator, and Dr. Sanjay Batish, Head, Computer Centre and Nodal Officer, who ensured smooth execution of the training. Expert trainers Sh. Sushil Kumar, Sh. Prabhsimran Singh Bindra, Sh. Sandeep Pathak, and Sh. Tejinder Singh conducted comprehensive sessions that provided both theoretical understanding and hands-on practice. The carefully designed curriculum covered Computer Fundamentals, e-Governance Portals (eHRMS, DigiLocker, GeM, PFMS, NDLI), MS Office Applications, Internet and Cloud Tools (Google Drive, Docs, Forms), Networking
Basics, Cybersecurity Awareness, and Mobile Technology including Android fundamentals.
These sessions not only familiarized officials with emerging digital platforms but also empowered them to adopt secure, collaborative, and efficient ICT practices in their daily work. By equipping police personnel with practical ICT competencies, the training reflects Punjab Engineering College’s strong commitment to digital capacity building, skill development, and public sector modernization. This initiative is another step towards fostering a digitally empowered law enforcement workforce, capable of leveraging technology to meet the challenges of modern policing and contribute effectively to good governance.
