Promoting a 5KM walk event organized by JP Eye Hospital to commemorate the first anniversary of their merger with Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospitals. The event, scheduled for 14th May 2023 at 6 am, aims to raise awareness for eye donation and encourage people to participate in the fight against blindness.
The Walkathon was successfully launched at 6:30 am by Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar (IPS, IGP, Commissioner, Punjab Police), Mrs. Aashika Jain (IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Mohali), and popular Punjabi film stars Mr. Jaswinder Bhalla and Mrs. Gurvinder Kaur. The event was attended by over 600 enthusiastic participants of all ages, representing a variety of organizations such as Government College Phase-6 Mohali, Ratan Professional College of Nursing Sector-79 Mohali, Bharath Vikas Parishad Mohali, Continental Engineering and Power Pvt Ltd Mohali, private schools, and the general public.
JP Eye Hospital and Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospitals Promote Eye Donation on Mother’s Day
Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, the IGP and Commissioner of Police for Punjab, commended the public’s enthusiastic participation in the Walkathon and emphasized the importance of eye donation to eradicate blindness from society. On the eve of Mothers Day Mrs. Aashika Jain, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Mohali, applauded JP Eye Hospital and Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital for their efforts in promoting awareness about eye donation on this special day. She suggested continuing such awareness programs and promised administrative support for this noble cause.
Mr. Jaswinder Bhalla expressed his gratitude to JP Eye Hospital for inviting him to participate in this eye donation initiative and praised the active involvement of the children from the Blind school and wheelchair organizations. Prof. Dr. Amar Agarwal, Chairman of Dr. Agarwals Healthcare Ltd, highlighted the importance of eye donation and stressed that simply pledging eyes is not enough. In case of death, eye donation must be ensured to serve the purpose of eradicating corneal blindness.
Dr. Jatinder Singh, Medical Director of JP Eye Hospital’s Mohali unit, assured that the campaign for eye donation to combat corneal blindness would continue. In honor of Mother’s Day, he announced that free eye consultations would be offered at JP Eye Hospital to all mothers in Tricity until 31st May.
