Chandigarh, 26 August: Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences and Technology, Jaipur Hosted an outreach visit and Meet in Chandigarh on the 25th august 2026. The event brought together senior government officials, distinguished representatives, healthcare stakeholders, professionals and key members from Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana whose presence reflected the growing recognition and potential of quality driven healthcare. The event was organised as part of Mahatma Gandhi Hospital’s continued endeavour to strengthen its outreach beyond Rajasthan and build meaningful healthcare partnerships with government institutions, stakeholders and communities across North India. The interaction provided an opportunity to present the hospital’s wide range of Organ Transplant facilities, super-specialty services, advanced medical facilities at extremely affordable rates at par with the government schemes. 

During the programme, the hospital highlighted its expertise in critical areas including cancer prevention and treatment, communicable diseases, organ transplantation and other super-specialty healthcare services with state of the art technology. MGUMST has established itself as one of the leading centres for organ transplantation in India, with a strong focus on providing advanced transplant care at comparatively affordable costs, thereby making complex healthcare more accessible to a larger section of society. Our commitment to quality and patient safety is further reinforced by our prestigious JCI and NABH accreditations. The event highlighted the institution’s strong legacy and the vision of Emeritus Chairperson Dr. M. L. Swarankar Sir, founder of MGUMST. His far-reaching vision of creating an institution committed to healthcare, medical education and service to society has provided the foundation for the organisation’s continued growth and development. Today, that legacy and vision are being carried forward by Dr. Vikas Chandra Swarankar, whose leadership and commitment have taken the institution towards newer milestones.

A significant part of the discussion led by Mr. Sukanta Kumar Das, Chief operating officer, MGUMST focused on the hospital’s growing presence among patients from Punjab and Chandigarh. Mr Das spoke extensively about the institution’s healthcare capabilities, affordable treatment facilities, outreach initiatives and its commitment to delivering high-quality treatment. He shared that the hospital has been receiving more than 100 patients every month from Punjab. Haryana and Chandigarh, reflecting the growing trust of patients from the region in Mahatma Gandhi Hospital’s clinical expertise and services.Through the event, Mahatma Gandhi Hospital aims to create awareness as well as greater access to advanced and affordable healthcare for patients from different parts of India as well as international patients, supported by a comprehensive ecosystem of super-specialty care and patient-centric services. The outreach programme reaffirmed MGUMST’s commitment to its core philosophy of making advanced healthcare accessible, affordable and patient-centric, while taking its expertise and services to a wider national and international audience.
