Joint work to focus on eye malignancies, clinical research, genetics, ocular oncology and advanced diagnostics; cancer patients across North India to benefit
New Chandigarh/Mohali: Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (HBCH-RC), Punjab, and Grewal Eye Institute (GEI), New Chandigarh, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen clinical research and integrated patient care. HBCH-RC is a unit of the Tata Memorial Centre, functioning under India’s Department of Atomic Energy.
The MoU was signed by Dr. (Prof.) Ashish Gulia, Director, HBCH-RC Punjab, and Dr. S.P.S. Grewal, Chairman, Grewal Eye Institute, in the presence of senior doctors and officials from both institutions.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate in the areas of clinical research, coordinated patient care, genetics, ocular oncology, translational research, advanced diagnostics and the management of eye malignancies. The partnership aims to promote evidence-based medicine, develop innovative treatment approaches and enhance the quality of healthcare services for patients.
Dr. S.P.S. Grewal said the collaboration marks an important step towards advancing patient care through innovation, shared expertise and clinical research. He added that the partnership will strengthen clinical research, genetics and patient-centric healthcare in North India while creating new opportunities for excellence in cancer and eye disease management.
