-Delhi- 14 September : Mr Inder Mohan Singh, President of Dashmesh Sewa Society (Regd) and Ex Member of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) asked Delhi Government to immediately Co-opt the Jathedar Sahib of Takhat Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo, Punjab as a member in the DSGMC. He said that Delhi Government had already included this Takhat also known as ‘Guru Ki Kashi’ in the Delhi Sikh Gurdwaras Act 1971 through its recent Gazette Notification dated June 24, 2025 whereas this Takhat is already included in Punjab Gurdwaras Act 1925 long back in April 1999 on the eve of 300 years’ Khalsa Sirjana Divas’.
Mr Inder Mohan Singh asked the Delhi Government to immediately make necessary amendments in Rule 3 of the DSGMC (Co-option of Rules) 1974 also and complete the process of Co-opting the Jathedar Sahib of Takhat Sri Damdama Sahib in the DSGMC as a Co-opted member so that this Jathedar Sahib may be officially called in the meetings of the General House, as and when called in future. Mr Singh said that with this amendment in Gurdwara Act & Rules, the general house of DSGMC now consists of 56 members including 10 co-opted members.
