Chandigarh University has launched the ‘CU for Life’ project in partnership with Rotary and the Blood Bank Society Resource Centre. Today, 53 university students initiated the project by donating blood.

Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu praised the students’ enthusiasm and announced the university’s commitment to organizing regular blood donation camps on campus. These camps aim to encourage faculty and students to participate in the noble cause of saving lives.

Rajendra K. Saboo, a former Rotary International President and the current President of the Governing Council of the Blood Resource Centre, honored Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu. He commended Sandhu for guiding today’s youth towards selfless giving and service.

Dr. Manish Rai, Director of the Blood Resource Centre, emphasized the vital role of blood donation in healthcare, saving lives every day. He highlighted the blood bank’s modern facilities for providing blood and platelets.

“Voluntary blood donation not only helps those in need but also teaches our youth about selflessness and community service,” mentioned Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu. The university’s goal is to raise awareness about blood donation through regular on-campus camps.

The Rotary and Blood Bank Society Resource Centre is a standalone blood bank jointly initiated by the Rotary Club of Chandigarh and the Blood Bank Society. The event saw participation from Rotarians, past district governors, Blood Bank Society’s secretary Nitti Sarin, and Chandigarh University faculty, among others.
