Chandigarh, A group of young entrepreneurs from the Chandigarh Tricity on Monday shared their journey of building a modern, organised garment care startup, Swan Clean during a press launch at Chandigarh Press Club on Monday. The start-up aimed at introducing global standards and sustainable practices into India’s traditionally unorganised dry-cleaning industry which is an alternative to India’s largely traditional dry-cleaning industry. Prabhjeet Singh, Kulwant Dhawan, Yash Pannu, Vinay Kumar, Ashok Gulati, led by Anoop Khullar & Piyush Khullar briefed about how innovation, sustainability and entrepreneurship can come together to transform even the most conventional service sectors.
They chose to adopt international processes, safer chemistry and technology-driven operations to set new benchmarks in garment care. Swan Clean has initially established five centres across the Tricity, located in Sector 7 Chd, Sector 35 Chd, Sector 8. Panchkula, VIP Road Zirakpur, Phase 3B2 Mohali , to cater to customers across the region. The pick up schedule can be attain by using the app.
While addressing the media, Piyush Khullar said their goal was never limited to starting another business. “We wanted to prove that young entrepreneurs can bring global standards to local industries, create jobs, and build trust-driven services without compromising on ethics or sustainability,”
A key highlight of this initiative is that it actively supports first-generation entrepreneurs and young professionals. Through training, operational support and technology access, the startup has enabled several young partners to establish their own service outlets across the tricity, creating employment and encouraging responsible entrepreneurship.
The Piyush Khullar also raised concerns about outdated practices still prevalent in the dry-cleaning sector, particularly the use of harsh chemicals that pose risks to health and the environment. Swan Clean follows internationally accepted safety standards, focusing on fabric-friendly and eco-conscious processes that align with global norms.
