Chandigarh, November 23, 2025: The Amateur Golfers Society (AGS) today announced details of the 10th Edition of the AGS Golf Tournament, during a curtain-raiser press meet held at the Press Club, Sector 27, Chandigarh.
Addressing the media, Advocate Suresh K Gupta, Founder Trustee AGS, along with AGS Chief Patron Hukum Goyal of Jia Diamonds and Patron Mohit Bansal of GMI Infra, outlined key highlights of the upcoming tournament and the organisation’s ‘golf development’ initiatives.
Gupta said that the tournament, which will be held on November 23 at Panchkula Golf Club, will witness the participation from 72 golfers including 68 men and 4 women, forming 18 four-balls.
Golfers will compete across three handicap categories: 0–9, 10–15 & 16 and above, with additional contests such as Longest Drive, Straightest Drive, and Nearest to Pin. The tournament is scheduled for an early 6:40 am tee-off.
During the press meet, the AGS also unveiled its structured training initiative aimed at enabling more individuals to take up golf. Hukum Goyal said, “Under this programme, AGS will train new players at a highly subsidized fee, ensuring they learn the game comfortably with guided, comprehensive training support.”
Goyal reiterated AGS’s commitment to creating a strong golfing culture in the region while nurturing emerging talent. He said, “The 10th Edition will continue its tradition of promoting excellence, participation and community engagement in the sport of golf.”
“Our golf training programme and regular tournaments are designed to broaden the base of amateur golfers and make the sport more accessible,” said Mohit Bansal, while sharing the organisation’s long-term vision.
Bansal added, “The tournament continues its core mission to develop the best talent among emerging and amateur golfers.”
In reply to a question, Gupta stated that AGS plans to conduct regular tournaments, develop the Amateur Golfers Society’s own Golf Range and scale up training facilities for aspiring players.
“Our goal is to develop a robust golfing culture by providing opportunities, infrastructure, and high-quality coaching to aspiring golfers and position the region as a promising golfing destination through consistent tournaments, structured learning and community engagement,” he said.
In the press conference AGS acknowledged strong backing from corporate partners including Jia Diamonds, LIGNA Wardrobes & Glass Partitions, GMI Infra, HDFC Bank and Punjab National Bank (PNB).
