The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections Results declared on Monday 27December threw hung house in which Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP emerged on top throwing a setback to BJP and Congress Party.
The AAP Party contested in the Chandigarh MC Elections for the first time bagged 14 seats while BJP held ground on 12 seats and Congress on 8 seats. Shromani Akali Dal got only one seat. The major setback in the election was when BJP’s Sitting Mayor Ravi Kant Sharma lost to AAP Candidate Damanpreet singh by margin of 828 votes in his ward.
Arvind Kejriwal said the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation showed that the people of Punjab want change and the rejected corrupt politics and choosen honest politics of AAP.

In its first entry in Chandigarh MC Elections AAP bagged 40% of vote share while BJP’s vote share dropped 43% and Congress share increased by 8%.
