Acclaimed playback singer Vippin Aneja, known for his soulful viral song, “Jaane Tere Shehar Ka” for Irfaan khan in the film, Jazba whose versatility across genres, is set to mesmerise the world yet again with a beautiful nazm titled “Tere Paas Main” in the upcoming film Mai Vaapas Aaunga, directed by the celebrated filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and featuring music by the legendary A.R. Rahman.
The collaboration marks another significant milestone in Vippin Aneja’s musical journey with Rahman, a relationship built over years of mutual respect, musical exploration, and memorable performances.

Reflecting on the opportunity, Vippin says:
“When preparation meets opportunity, that’s when true success happens. Working with Rahman Bhai again feels like destiny unfolding at the right time.”
The seeds of this collaboration were sown during Dashavatar, a prestigious production that premiered at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), directed by Atlee. During the project, Rahman asked Vippin to sing several ghazals impromptu, showcasing his command over the genre and leaving a lasting impression.
Known for his remarkable musical instincts and attention to artistic detail, A.R. Rahman remembered those sessions and later chose Vippin to perform the emotionally rich nazm “Tere Paas Main” for Mai Vaapas Aaunga.
This reunion follows Vippin’s earlier collaboration with Rahman on the blockbuster film Sarkar, starring Vijay Thalapathy, where Vippin sang the Tamil and Telugu versions of the chartbuster “Simtaangaran,” a song that crossed the 100-million mark and became a massive fan favourite. He also toured extensively with A.R. Rahman as part of the iconic Unity of Light and Peace Concerts, performing before audiences across the globe.
Expressing his gratitude, Vippin adds:

Mai Vaapas Aaunga boasts a stellar cast featuring Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina, and Sharvari, and is already generating immense anticipation among cinema and music lovers alike.
The film’s music, spearheaded by A.R. Rahman, is expected to be one of the highlights of the project, with Vippin Aneja’s rendition of Tere Paas Main promising to add a poignant and memorable chapter to the soundtrack.
The song and film has been released on 12th June, and audiences eagerly await this powerful collaboration between one of India’s most beloved composers and one of its most expressive contemporary voices.
