-Chandigarh, April 21, 2025: 16 year old Avik Bhatia, who originally hails from Nawanshahr, has secured the prestigious ‘Best Young Rider’ title at the Delhi Horse Show 2025 — his third consecutive achievement in this event.
Hosted at the iconic Army Equestrian Centre, this year’s Delhi Horse Show saw participation from over 500 horses representing the Indian Defense Forces, state equestrian federations and private clubs from across the country. Amidst stiff competition, Avik delivered a stunning performance by achieving podium finishes in every event he entered — earning a total of 4 Gold, 2 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals across various categories.
Avik’s win in 2025 adds to his previous ‘Best Young Rider’ titles in 2023 and 2024, marking a hat-trick at one of India’s most prestigious equestrian shows.

Beyond national events, Avik’s talent has also shone on the international stage. In 2024, he was selected as the youngest rider to represent India at the Asian Equestrian Federation (AEF) Youth Cup, held among 14 participating Asian countries. He brought home Individual Silver and Bronze medals, proudly raising the Indian flag on the continental podium.
His journey of excellence began early — crowned Best Rider at the Junior Nationals in 2020-21, Avik has maintained an unbroken streak of medal-winning performances at the National Equestrian Championships since 2019, steadily rising through the ranks of Indian equestrian sport.
Now, with his sights set firmly on the Youth Olympic Games and Asian Games qualifiers later this year, Avik is training harder than ever to earn a spot among India’s elite. His dedication, discipline, and drive continue to inspire the next generation of young Indian riders.
