So mark your calendars for Matsuri, the awaited Japanese Food and Drink Festival in Mohali at Skyeline Bar & Lounge, Best Western Plus, Mohali offering a series of unique and authentic delights for your palate. Scheduled for 17th-26th January 2025, the festival will be a spectacular celebration of Japan’s rich food traditions, providing attendees the perfect opportunity to dive into the flavors and atmosphere of Japan in Tricity.
Matsuri’s centerpiece is a remarkable array of food and drink. Guests will enjoy a multi-faceted experience of Japanese cuisine, featuring not only savory classics such as Sushi and Tempura, but also lesser-known dishes from around Japan that reflect the spectrum of this food-rich nation’s cuisine. There is plenty to taste, mouth-watering Yakitori and Takoyaki, offerings. Along with hot ramen, festival goers can enjoy a curated selection of Japanese beverages, including Sake.
This year, the Matsuri is excited to bring the acclaimed Sake expert Maaya Takaoka, the CEO of NIHONSHUNISHIYO CO. LTD, and will host exclusive Sake food pairings and cooking demonstrations all weekend long. Maaya can share her knowledge and her background in Japanese food and knowledge of what makes for authentic dishes versus modernising them. Maya believes that “sake is a drinkable supplement,” not just for its yummy flavor but for its wellness and beauty properties as well! In India, she has conducted over 20 Japanese sake lectures at Japanese Restaurants and Liquor shops.
