NTR Jr Shares Details of 35-Day Underwater Scene in Devara

-‘Man of Masses NTR Jr. ‘s upcoming film ‘Devara: Part1’  is already generating global excitement, and one of the most talked-about moments is the  intense underwater sequence. Combining the actor’s dedication with technical precision, the scene promises to deliver a thrilling, immersive experience that will leave audiences in awe. Shot over an incredible 30 to 35 days, the sequence is a key part of the film’s high-stakes action and takes place in the coastal regions of India.

Talking about the challenging shoot, NTR Jr. explained, “We shot for close to 30-35 odd days, underwater and over the water. It’s one of the most important sequences of Devara.” He also shared how this wasn’t just a typical water scene, it involved a huge effort to make everything look as real as possible. The production team set up a 200 by 150 water tank where most of the sequence was filmed. NTR Jr. mentioned how they used diggers to create artificial waves and motors in the water to add small ripples, mimicking the natural movements of the sea.

The actor also explained that because the story takes place in a coastal region, water was a constant theme throughout the action sequences. “We really had a lot of water elements, shooting on water and in water,” revealed NTR Jr. To make it even more realistic, they used motorboats and wave machines to capture the true essence of a coastal environment. “These action sequences are high on intensity. There are moments that will just sweep you off your feet when you see them,” he said, reflecting on the enormous effort it took to pull off such a visually stunning sequence.

‘Devara: Part 1’ is set for release on September 27, 2024. The film is directed by Koratala Siva and produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, with presentation by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. Alongside NTR Jr. and Janhvi Kapoor, the film features Saif Ali Khan in a key role.
