Chandigarh, December 14, 2023: Star Health and Allied Insurance, India’s premier health insurer, has revealed that it settled claims exceeding Rs.127 crores in the Punjab region from April to September 2023. Out of these claims, Rs.119 crore were disbursed to network hospitals and Rs.8 crores to non-network hospitals.
The company also disclosed that more than Rs.114 crores were paid through cashless claim settlements, and Rs.13 crore were reimbursed to customers in Punjab. Star Health ensured that all cashless claims were settled within two hours and strives to pay reimbursement claims within seven days.
From April to September 2023, surgical procedures accounted for Rs.77 crore of the total payout in Punjab, followed by medical treatments with Rs.50 crore in settlements. Claims made by women amounted to Rs.60 crore while claims made by men totaled Rs.67 crore.
Mr. Sanath Kumar K., Chief Claims Officer at Star Health and Allied Insurance Co., stated that claim settlements and cashless treatment approvals have been expedited in Punjab due to their customer-centric approach.
