Chandigarh: The results of the Punjab Engineering College Old Students’ Association (PECOSA) Elections 2026 have been declared, with Harpreet Singh Oberoi of the 1993 batch elected as President and all other office-bearer and Executive Member positions filled.
Oberoi secured a decisive victory in the presidential contest, polling 1,106 votes, or 67.7 per cent of the votes. He defeated Pankaj Gupta, who received 458 votes, and Mohit Shrivastava, who polled 69 votes.
For the post of Vice President, Sanjiv Moudgil of the 1985 batch emerged victorious with 1,006 votes, accounting for 62.5 per cent of the votes polled. Archana Rohela received 454 votes, while Puneet Saxena secured 150 votes.
Jorawer Singh of the 1990 batch was elected General Secretary after securing 939 votes, representing 57.7 per cent of the total. Dr Har Amrit Sandhu polled 626 votes, while Om Kanoujia received 62 votes.
Ashwani Kundal of the 2009 batch was elected Treasurer with 1,015 votes, or 63.8 per cent, defeating Shagun Sharma, who secured 576 votes.
Sandeep Gupta of the 1988 batch won the Joint Secretary position with 1,036 votes, accounting for 65.8 per cent of the votes. Dr Rajendra Belokar received 476 votes, while Arunesh Seth polled 62 votes.
11 Executive Members Elected
Along with the five office-bearers, 11 candidates were elected to the PECOSA Executive Committee.
Mridula Grover Dang of the 1984 batch topped the Executive Member tally with 1,027 votes. She was followed by Jaswinder Singh Garcha (Batch 1972) with 993 votes and Rajiv Gupta (Batch 1981) with 975 votes.
The other elected Executive Members are Akshaye Raj Aggarwal (Batch 2012), who secured 936 votes; Prabhdeep Singh Sandhu (Batch 1975), 929 votes; Vinod Kumar Jain (Batch 1977), 919 votes; Sanjeev Jain (Batch 1988), 919 votes; Harbhajan Singh Munday (Batch 1974), 917 votes; Ashok Kumar Sharma (Batch 1976), 910 votes; Vivek Mahajan (Batch 1996), 898 votes; and Ayush Goyal (Batch 2018), 876 votes.
With the declaration of the results, PECOSA has completed the election of its new leadership team for 2026, bringing together alumni from batches spanning 1972 to 2018 in its office-bearer and Executive Member positions.
