-Chandigarh:-In a major push towards greener and smarter public transport, BiTEK Solar Pvt Ltd, an Indian clean energy company, has joined hands with global EV brand Skyworth to assemble electric buses in India.
The partnership will begin with the assembly of 45- seater electric buses, with plans to introduce a 55-seater version in the next phase. These buses will be put together right here for supporting the Make in India initiative and creating jobs.
But these aren’t just electric buses — they’re smart too. Each vehicle will be fully trackable and remotely monitored, allowing real-time updates on performance, location, and safety. It’s a big step forward in ensuring smoother operations and peace of mind for both transport providers and passengers.
“This is more than just assembling buses — it’s about building a cleaner and more connected future for Indian roads,” said a spokesperson from BiTEK Solar.
“We’re proud to partner with Skyworth and bring this global technology closer to our beloved country.”
To make charging hassle-free, BiTEK will also offer fast charging options of up to 320kW, which means the buses can charge quickly and get back on the road without long delays — ideal for city commutes and longer journeys alike.
With Skyworth’s global EV experience and BiTEK’s strong presence in India’s renewable energy space, the collaboration is expected to give a big boost to electric mobility across the country.
The first batch of buses is expected to hit the roads for trial runs later this year — marking a promising start towards a greener, smarter public transport system for India.
